Dr. Burns is Dallas’ Resident CoolSculpting Expert
Dr. Burns is recognized as an authority on nonsurgical body contouring and has been involved with CoolSculpting for over 15 years, ever since the technology it uses — cryolipolysis — first appeared. He proudly serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for CoolSculpting, which consists of a select group of medical experts and thought leaders in the fields of dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetics who provide scientific and clinical guidance to Zeltiq Aesthetics, the company that developed CoolSculpting. In 2017, Zeltiq was acquired by Allergan, a leader in the medical aesthetics space known for brands like Botox that has continued to improve CoolSculpting technology over the years, culminating in CoolSculpting Elite — the most advanced noninvasive body contouring and fat reduction device in the world.
The board is made up of experienced physicians and researchers who have a deep understanding of the science and technology behind CoolSculpting, as well as its clinical applications and the ways to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Members collaborate with Allergan to advance the scientific understanding of the CoolSculpting technology and help ensure that the treatment is safe and effective.
Members of the CoolSculpting Scientific Advisory Board are selected based on their knowledge and expertise. Allergan seeks out physicians who are recognized leaders in their respective fields, such as Dr. Burns, who have made significant contributions to the scientific and clinical understanding of nonsurgical fat reduction. As a result, the CoolSculpting Scientific Advisory Board comprises an elite group of well-respected doctors and aesthetic providers.
Dr. Burns also serves as the medical director for CoolSculpting University in Austin, Texas. CoolSculpting University is a training program offered by Allergan designed to provide healthcare professionals with in-depth knowledge on how to properly and effectively use the CoolSculpting technology for body contouring and fat reduction treatments.
The program consists of a comprehensive curriculum that covers the science behind CoolSculpting, the patient selection and assessment process, treatment planning and how to help people achieve the most transformative results. It also provides hands-on training using the CoolSculpting device, allowing participants to gain practical experience in a supervised setting. By serving as CoolSculpting University’s medical director, Dr. Burns continues to demonstrate his ongoing commitment to keeping up with the latest advances and techniques in nonsurgical body contouring and aesthetic skin care.
