BBL® and BBL® HERO™️

Built upon the original BroadBand Light (BBL) technology by Sciton, BBL HERO is a revolutionary system that tackles skin concerns ranging from pigmentation and redness to wrinkles and overall skin texture. Dr. Burns actively contributed to developing this technology, and RSMD was one of the first practices in the United States to receive the BBL HERO machine.

Sciton’s High Energy Rapid Output (HERO) technology takes BBL HERO beyond traditional Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). With this technology, we can deliver treatments up to four times faster with little to no downtime and better results. Results are often visible after just one session, and with continued treatments, improvements in skin quality are made at a cellular level.

MOXI®

MOXI is a fractional laser technology designed to revitalize skin with minimal to no downtime. Developed as a lighter and more accessible alternative to more aggressive laser treatments, MOXI has outperformed expectations across the board. It is one of the most frequently performed laser treatments in our practice. It serves as a perfect introductory option for individuals new to laser-based skincare, as well as a maintenance treatment for existing users. It has opened up a fantastic treatment for people of color and those suffering from PIH and melasma. These skin conditions have been historically almost impossible to treat effectively and Moxi has been a game changers for these patients desperately seeking help.

Moxi also adds great benefit for those patients who have difficult to correct age spots and is a great addition to many treatments serving to enhance the results of BBL, Halo, and Radiofrequency microneedling.

MOXI is a gentle, nonablative laser. It is safe for any time of year and all skin types seeking "prejuvenation" and subtle polishing. The treatment takes just 10 to 15 minutes for a full-face session.

HALO® Laser

HALO is a pioneering skin treatment that merges the power of ablative and nonablative lasers through dual-wavelength technology. This innovation allows for both surface-layer (epidermis) and deep-layer (dermis) skin treatment, providing quicker and more comprehensive improvements in pigmentation and texture with minimal downtime.

HALO is one of our most versatile lasers. It plays an integral role in the HALO Skin to Life™️ treatment developed by Dr. Burns, a protocol that tailors different types and depths of laser treatment to different areas of the face according to the patient’s needs. Most patients see noticeable results within days that continue to improve for up to six months post-treatment.

It has been a fantastic addition in treating acne scarring in combination with other laser technologies available in our “scar clinic” at RSMD.

DermaV™

DermaV is an innovative, state of the art, all-in-one laser treatment designed to address a broad spectrum of skin issues including vascular lesions, redness, pigmentation and general skin rejuvenation. It distinguishes itself by utilizing two versatile but well proven wavelengths, allowing us to treat both brown and red skin discolorations simultaneously.

The DermaV platform also offers two skin rejuvenation treatments for a more youthful complexion: Face & Body ART and IntelliTone Clear & Smooth. Face & Body ART reduces redness and evens out pigmentation, while IntelliTone Clear & Smooth improves overall skin tone and texture. DermaV includes a cryogen cooling system that protects the skin for enhanced comfort and safety.

Laser Resurfacing

Dr. Burns is a world-renowned expert in advanced laser resurfacing. He has chosen to offer the Erbium laser at RSMD, which has surpassed the CO2 laser as the gold standard for deep resurfacing procedures. His articles have led the way in educating his colleagues as to the advantages of not only Erbium but his specifica techniques. He has sold out preceptorships year after year teaching aesthetic physicians and laser staff how to perform advanced laser techniques to optimize results and maximize safety. His results and approach are world renowned. Erbium offers fewer side effects, less downtime and a quicker recovery, with anesthesia options ranging from topical to general depending on the depth of the treatment.

Erbium laser resurfacing is an aggressive technique designed for those seeking substantial improvement in concerns like deep wrinkles, pronounced sun damage, uneven tone and texture, and scarring. With just one Erbium laser treatment, Dr. Burns can achieve significant results that last for years. He often treats patients who have been told that nothing can be done. Please make an appointment if you have advanced sun damage and want correction.

Laser Hair Removal

We offer laser hair removal with the state-of-the-art Clarity II from Lutronic. This technology overcomes the previous limitations of laser hair removal systems, such as ineffectiveness, slow speed, pain, and the inability to treat various skin tones and hair colors. Clarity II employs dual-wavelength laser technology and cryogen cooling, ensuring efficiency, comfort and safety for all skin types and most hair colors.

Clarity II can treat unwanted hair on both the face and body. The device's large, adjustable spot size and high power enable quick and efficient treatments, and often reduce the total number of sessions required for optimal results. Post-treatment, there is minimal downtime and results can last for many years.

FAQs

You have questions? We have answers.

What's the difference between laser and IPL treatments?

Laser treatments and IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, are both popular light-based therapies, but they are not the same.

Laser devices produce a single, focused wavelength of light. This concentrated beam is excellent for precise treatments, whether you’re looking to get rid of hair, target pigmentation or reduce wrinkles.

IPL employs a broader spectrum of light wavelengths in each pulse of light. It’s less targeted but can treat a range of skin issues simultaneously, such as redness, sun damage and irregular pigmentation.

What's the difference between ablative and nonablative lasers?

Ablative lasers work by vaporizing the outer layers of damaged skin. They’re a powerful tool for more aggressive treatments, such as reducing deep wrinkles, sun damage or scars. The trade-off is a longer recovery time, as your skin will need to heal and regenerate.

Nonablative lasers target the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. They do not affect the skin surface. Nonablative treatments are generally more subtle and have a quicker recovery time, but they may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired results.

Each type of laser has its own set of benefits, risks and recovery times, and the best choice depends on your individual skin concerns, your skin type, your overall health and your lifestyle.

Are lasers safe for all skin types and tones?

Many lasers are not suitable for all skin tones, primarily because they target the melanin (the pigment that gives color) in hair or skin imperfections. In individuals with darker skin tones, there’s a risk that the laser could also target the melanin in the skin, which could lead to skin damage or discoloration.

At Resurrect Skin MD, we’ve consciously chosen to offer a range of laser technologies so that we can accommodate everyone, regardless of skin type or tone. Whether you have fair, tanned or dark skin, we have options that are both effective and safe.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for laser treatments?

There’s no better way to determine your suitability for laser treatments than through a personalized consultation at Resurrect Skin MD. During this one-on-one session, Dr. Burns or one of our highly skilled providers will conduct a thorough evaluation of your skin type, concerns, medical history and treatment goals. This process allows us to customize the treatment parameters to maximize your results while minimizing risks.

How should I choose a provider for laser treatments?

Selecting a provider for laser treatments is an important decision that should not be taken lightly. At RSMD, we firmly believe that choosing the right practice with the right blend of technical expertise, clinical experience reputation will optimize your chances of achieving the best outcome possible for your specific issues.

Dr. Burns is not just a provider; he is a global authority in laser treatments.
