What Is the Lip Filler Treatment Process?
All Resurrect Skin MD injectors are trained in advanced filler techniques. Our injectors are experts in facial anatomy and aesthetic principles, and we are proud to say they’re some of the best in the business.
You will start with a comprehensive consultation to determine the best filler and approach for your goals. After the consultation, you will know which products we recommend, how much filler it will take to meet your needs and how much your treatment will cost.
Our dermal fillers contain an anesthetic in their formulas that starts to take effect immediately. From there, the rest of the injections should feel tolerable, like small pinches. Lip filler injections take approximately 15-20 minutes.
What Can I Expect After Getting Lip Fillers?
You’ll see a noticeable difference in volume and shape right after your treatment. However, it’s important to remember that initial swelling may slightly exaggerate your results. This is your body’s natural response and should subside within a few days to a week.
For the first 24 hours, it’s best to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (like saunas or hot yoga), lipstick, and alcohol consumption to reduce swelling and bruising risks. Other possible side effects include redness, tenderness, lumps or unevenness for a few days.
Your provider will let you know of any other restrictions or specific aftercare instructions.
The final results of your lip injections will be visible once any swelling has subsided and the filler has settled, usually within two weeks. This is when you’ll fully appreciate the artistry and expertise behind your enhanced lips.
How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
Dermal fillers have varying lifespans. On average, lip fillers can last anywhere from six months to over a year. Products like Juvéderm and Restylane typically offer results that last around six to 12 months, while RHA fillers can sometimes extend beyond a year.
Your metabolism, your lifestyle and the natural movement of your lips can influence how long your fillers last. If you are active or have a faster metabolism, you may find that your fillers metabolize more quickly.
To maintain the desired volume and shape, most patients opt for follow-up treatments. These sessions are typically scheduled once or twice a year to ensure continuous, natural-looking enhancement.
