What Should I Expect During My Treatment?

Clarity II is more powerful than other devices on the market, but discomfort is minimized by the cold spray of cryogen both before and after the laser energy is delivered to the hair follicle. The system includes two built-in cooling mechanisms: traditional air cooling and a cryogenic spray that instantly cools the treated skin. The device also has temperature sensing for continuous real-time skin temperature feedback.
The Clarity II can treat an area in significantly less time than other lasers thanks to its adjustable, large spot size (essentially, the diameter of the light emitted). Increasing the spot size for larger areas allows us to treat more follicles with fewer passes of the laser. Larger spot sizes also allow deeper penetration, which ensures a more thorough treatment of the target (the hair bulb) located deeper in the skin.
A hair reduction treatment can last as little as five minutes for a small area (e.g., the upper lip) but it is speedy for larger areas like the back. Such areas can often be treated in 30 minutes in most cases but might require 45 minutes for larger men.
What Is the Recovery Like After Laser Hair Removal?
Our Dallas laser hair removal treatments have no required downtime and minimal aftercare instructions. Side effects may include mild redness or swelling in the treated area(s) for a few hours, and some patients experience slight irritation, tenderness or dryness.
Laser treatments can increase the photosensitivity of your skin temporarily. Therefore, it is important to avoid sun exposure and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to prevent skin damage for 24 hours post-treatment.
There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat your skin gently for the first 24 hours. Keep it hydrated with a non-comedogenic moisturizer and skip harsh products and ingredients (like retinol or acids). You may resume your regular skincare routine once any post-treatment irritation resolves.
What Are the Expected Results From Clarity II Laser Hair Removal?
Clarity II delivers better results, faster. Whereas older lasers could require 10 or more sessions to achieve optimal results, we see patients who are happy with their results after three to four sessions with the Clarity II. The number of treatments necessary varies with hair type, skin type, density of hairs and overall patient variability and will be discussed during your consultation. Treatments are typically spaced six to eight weeks apart.
Your skin can remain hair-free for years to come once all the follicles in the area have been treated. Should you experience regrowth at any point, touch-up treatments can be scheduled. The most important thing you can do to ensure you get great results is to complete the full recommended series of treatments.
